As soon as you're ready—we're here to support you and your little one! Some babies receive chiropractic evaluations and gentle adjustments shortly after birth, while others come in during the first few weeks or months of life. The sooner care begins, the sooner they can begin adapting to this new world they have entered!

what is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural, hands-on healthcare profession that focuses on the relationship between the spine, joints, nervous system, and the body's ability to function at its best.

Every day, our bodies experience physical stress from things like poor posture, repetitive movements, pregnancy, birth, sports, injuries, and everyday activities. Over time, these stresses can lead to areas of restriction where joints don't move as well as they should. These restrictions can affect how your body moves, adapts, and functions.

Chiropractors use gentle, specific adjustments to help restore healthy movement to restricted joints, improve mobility, and support optimal nervous system function. When your body moves and functions well, you're often better able to adapt to the physical demands of daily life.

For most people, chiropractic adjustments are not painful. In fact, many patients find them relieving and leave feeling like they can move more comfortably. Because every person is different, you may feel gentle pressure, a quick movement, or hear a popping sound during some adjustments—but these type of adjustments are not required. We offer a variety of techniques and will always choose the approach that's right for you.

After an adjustment, some patients experience mild soreness, similar to what you might feel after trying a new workout. This usually resolves within a day or two as your body adapts to moving more freely.

For infants and children, adjustments look very different than they do for adults. Pediatric adjustments use incredibly gentle pressure—often no more than the amount used to check the ripeness of a tomato—and are designed specifically for a child's developing body. Most babies sleep through their adjustment or remain calm and comfortable throughout their visit.

The popping or cracking sound you may hear during some chiropractic adjustments is completely normal. It's simply the release of gas from within the fluid of a joint as pressure changes during the adjustment—similar to opening a soda can. This process is called joint cavitation.

Not every adjustment produces a popping sound, and hearing (or not hearing) one does not determine whether the adjustment was successful. Many effective chiropractic techniques are completely quiet, especially those used for infants, children, pregnant patients, and individuals who prefer a gentler approach.

why should i come in if im feeling fine?

Many people notice areas of stiffness and naturally try to "crack" their own neck or back. While this may provide temporary relief, it's usually not the same as a chiropractic adjustment.

When you crack your own back or neck, you're often moving the joints that already move easily rather than the joints that are actually restricted. This can create a brief feeling of relief, but it doesn't necessarily address the underlying cause of the problem.

A chiropractic adjustment is a specific, controlled movement performed after a thorough evaluation to restore motion to a restricted joint. Chiropractors complete years of doctoral-level education and extensive hands-on clinical training to learn how to evaluate the spine and joints, identify areas of restriction, and deliver safe, precise adjustments tailored to each individual patient.

If you find yourself frequently needing to crack your neck or back throughout the day, it may be a sign that your body isn't moving as well as it could. We'd be happy to evaluate what's contributing to that feeling and develop a personalized plan to help you move more comfortably and function at your best

Feeling good is a wonderful thing—and our goal is to help you stay that way.

Pain is just one way your body communicates that something isn't right. In many cases, changes in movement, posture, flexibility, or joint function can occur long before pain develops. Regular chiropractic evaluations can help identify areas of restriction that may be affecting how your body moves and functions, even if you're not currently experiencing discomfort.

Many patients choose to continue chiropractic care as part of a proactive approach to their health. Just as people exercise, eat well, or visit the dentist to help maintain their health, chiropractic care can be one piece of an overall wellness routine that supports healthy movement, mobility, and nervous system function.
